Colorful People of Masai, Kenya

Amboseli National Park, elephant paradise in the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Kenya

Amboseli National Park, located 4 hours from Nairobi in the border with Tanzania, is the place where the two giants of Africa meet, the elephants and the Kilimanjaro. The memory of last year flashed back when I looked at the white peak at the distance. I was there!

Lake Assal, the salt lake, producing the high quality salt, Djibouti

Located about 2-3 hours drive from Djibouti City. But, we had to pass two rivers, really passing through the river with our 4WD car! We visited on return way from Lake Abbe to Djibouti City. Due to the water in the river we had to cross had abundantly increased for the rain, I failed to catch up my flight...
The salt from this lake has been exploited since thousand years and its exploitation is controlled by government now.

Rafting at White Nile River, Uganda

Though it was expensive (USD 125), this one day thrilling activity, with Grade 5 rapid current and waterfall, was fun! We joined the rafting by company Nile River Explorer. After one day rowing, flipping and drawning experience, burned by the sun heat; the cold beer, while viewing the sunset on the Nile River, tasted so good!

Lake Abbe, a place on earth like Mars, Djibouti

Lake Abbe is located near to Ethiopian border and can be reached from Djibouti City about 4-5 hours by car (4WD). It is famous for the shooting location of film "Planet of Apes". It is a beautiful and unearthly.

Lake Nakuru National Park, a flamingo paradise

We changed our destination, from planned Lake Magadi to this national park because we wanted to see more animals, since we failed to see a lion in Amboseli National Park. Though we failed also here to find a lion, this national park was so beautiful, with thousands of flamingo and a lot of rhino. We did not join a tour, but chartered a car with the driver.

Gorilla Encounter at Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Unforgettable encounter with a gorilla family, named Hirwa (meaning Lucky) Family at Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The member of Hirwa Family is one Silver Back (alpha male), 6 females, and 6 babies. We were watching at about 2 meter distance from them, and they ignored us. The adults were taking siesta (a nap), or daydreaming (seems they had something in their minds), while the babies were playing jumping around and around.
